Our recent six-day stay at The Building in Rome was an absolute delight, especially when traveling with a teenager. Opting for the junior suite proved perfect, providing two levels of living space that allowed our son his own private area on the lower floor. This layout not only gave him a sense of independence but also ensured everyone had their own comfortable space. Each morning began wonderfully with the included breakfast. The offerings were ample and varied—from scrambled eggs and bacon to a broad selection of meats, cheeses, pastries, and cereals—ensuring a pleasing start to our busy days. The hotel’s bar was another highlight, featuring stunning interiors that made each evening feel special. The addition of a live pianist elevated our experience, creating a soothing ambiance that was perfect for unwinding after a day of exploration. Dining in the hotel’s restaurant was a treat as well; the Italian cuisine was authentically delicious and provided good value. We dined there twice and each meal was a testament to the quality and service of the establishment. Located in the prestigious embassy district, The Building was ideally situated, just a 30-minute walk from the Trevi Fountain and close to many other popular sights. Even when we chose to take taxis, they were surprisingly quick and reasonably priced, adding to the convenience of our stay. Given our wonderful experience, we wouldn’t hesitate to choose The Building again for our next visit to Rome. It offered not just a place to stay, but a place to truly enjoy, making our holiday as relaxing as it was memorable.

Beautiful hotel, with very welcoming staff at the front desk. The front desk staff were always friendly and helpful. The room was really clean and quiet modern. We really did not spend much time in the hotel to say a lot more. Would stay again if coming back to Rome.

Disgusting room from floor to ceiling. Flies greeted me at the door of the room and I literally killed 8 of them and still had more flying around. Turned on the faucet in the bathroom and flies were coming up out of the drain. I couldn’t believe it. Very nasty looking carpet and the dirt and dust that completely covered everything in the room was just unbelievable. The pictures and online reviews are beyond deceiving and misleading. Even the picture on the television when you turn it on depicts a very beautiful, pristine, well maintained room. That was not what I was standing in the middle of. Disgustingly stained and peeling wallpaper and carpet. Soap scum covered shower doors. Just horrible and a lot of it looks like mold. I had to grab my phone to take pictures and videos because no one would believe me based off of the raving reviews and deceiving pictures posted online. I believe they are writing their own wonderful reviews and they have a particular room that they use for the photos that they post to reel people in. I prepaid for my room weeks in advance so unfortunately it was non refundable. I was moved to a different room but it still wouldn’t make me want to return to this place again.. Nor would I recommend it to anyone. Ever…

We had a wonderful stay the The Building Hotel even though sadly it was short. Huge thank you to Cristina at the front desk who helped us navigate our way to the Colosseum by metro and convincing us that doing it on foot might be a bit too much- she was right! The staff were all very kind, the breakfast was generous and varied enough for guests from all parts of the world. Highly recommended!! Grazie per la stupenda visita!!

Gorgeous hotel with amazing architecture inside. The staff were all absolutely lovely. Food in the restaurant was beautiful, there is a pianist most nights, and the staff there were super friendly and great to talk to. Mansa and Ergus were lovely and so helpful, as were the reception and spa staff. Nothing was too much trouble. The massage and spa were a live saver after long walks in the city. Would definitely recommend and will return if I’m in Rome again.
